In a major victory for the organization, two leaders of the Israeli-American Civic Action Network (“ICAN”) have won their elections and will now be working to promote Israeli-American engagement in the Republican and Democratic parties. This is a significant step forward for ICAN, as they work to ensure that the voices of Israeli-Americans are heard in the political sphere.

ICAN’s Nevada Chair Emeritus, Sigal Chattah, won her election to represent her home state as a delegate to the Republican National Committee (RNC), and Esther Ravid, a member of ICAN’s California Executive Council, won her election to serve as a delegate to the California Democratic Party (CADEM).

“Congratulations to all those involved with this critical effort! It is vital that Israelis living in America make our voices heard through active participation in our democratic process,” said Robert Mayer, ICAN’s National Co-Chair.

In her election, Sigal Chattah made history as the first Israeli-American elected to the Republican National Committee.

“This year, ICAN has made major gains in ensuring Israeli-Americans participate in the Republican and Democratic parties,” said Dillon Hosier, ICAN CEO. “These successes indicate ICAN’s growing impact on promoting Israeli-American engagement within America’s political system.”

This is a major milestone for ICAN as the organization has been working over the last several years to promote bipartisan support for Israel and the Israeli-American community and have now seen two leaders elected to prestigious political positions in the Republican and Democratic parties.

These achievements will help further ICAN’s mission of ensuring that Israeli-American voices and interests are elevated and that Israel is recognized as a strong ally on both sides of the aisle.
