ICAN Stands with the Armenian Community in Condemning Anti-Armenian Flyers in Glendale

Following the incident on March 31, 2023, where anti-Armenian flyers promoting the completion of the Armenian Genocide were found posted on light poles near St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church and other areas of Glendale, California, ICAN has released the following statement:

ICAN condemns, in the strongest terms, the recent dissemination of anti-Armenian flyers in Glendale, California. We stand in solidarity with the Armenian community in Los Angeles and express our deepest condolences and sympathies for this heinous act of hate speech and violence. This incident is a stark reminder that we must remain vigilant against the forces of discrimination, hatred, and genocide denial.

As an organization dedicated to promoting justice, human rights, and democracy, ICAN recognizes the shared values of the Israeli-American and Armenian communities. We are committed to standing together against all forms of hate and bigotry.

In light of this disturbing incident, we offer our support to Armenian advocacy organizations and encourage our members to participate in events that raise awareness about the Armenian Genocide. We call on all individuals and communities to join us in standing up against hate and intolerance, and in working together towards a more just and peaceful world.
