In Historic Win, ICAN's Nevada Chairwoman Prevails in Republican Primary for Attorney General

Los Angeles, California: Israeli-American Civic Action Network (“ICAN”) co-founder, national board member, and Nevada state Chairwoman, Sigal Chattah, wins her primary for Attorney General, defeating her opponent by a wide margin.

Chattah’s candidacy is historic. We expect Chattah to win the general election in November, making her the first Israeli-American ever elected to statewide office in the United States.

“Sigal’s candidacy serves as an inspiration for Israeli-Americans across the country. Our voice matters, and we can make a difference,” said Vered Elkouby Nisim, ICAN California Chairwoman. “When elected, her unique experience and perspective will enable her to combat antisemitism and bigotry more effectively.”

As an ICAN national board member and state chair, Chattah has led several advocacy initiatives related to Holocaust education and strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance.

“When ICAN was established three years ago, it was built around the idea that Israeli-Americans must get more involved in civic life in the U.S.,” said Robert Mayer, ICAN Massachusetts Chair. “Having Israeli-Americans serve in elected or appointed positions is one of our key objectives, and we couldn’t be more proud of Sigal’s success. She is a role model for Israeli-Americans, today and future generations.”

The Nevada General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8th.
