Event Summary:

Join us for a special Student Hearing on Antisemitism, an event designed to amplify the voices of students and address the challenges they face regarding antisemitism. Inspired by the traditional “citizen hearing” model, this event has been tailored to focus on student experiences and concerns.

What is a Student Hearing?

A student hearing is a participatory method specifically tailored for students to voice their concerns, experiences, and suggestions on specific issues. The primary goal is to ensure that the voices of our students are heard and considered in decision-making processes. For this event, pre-selected students will share their personal experiences and insights on antisemitism in schools, thanks to our partners at ClubZ. Board members, including LAUSD school board members Nick Melvoin and Scott Schmerelson (with invitations extended to other LAUSD school board members and officials), will engage with the students, deepening the dialogue and understanding of the issues presented.

This event is a collaborative effort between the Educators’ Caucus for Israel, the Association of Jewish Educators at LAUSD, the National Education Association Jewish Affairs Caucus, ClubZ, Combating Antisemitism Movement, Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and the Israeli-American Civic Action Network. We aim to foster meaningful dialogue, deepen understanding, and pave the way for collaborative solutions. Register now and be a part of this impactful conversation.
