Beverly Hills, CA – In a decisive move that underscores the urgency of the current geopolitical climate, the Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) commends the Beverly Hills City Council for its forthright resolution in support of Israel. This action comes on the heels of a devastating terrorist onslaught initiated by Hamas on October 7, 2023, during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.

“The resolution passed by the Beverly Hills City Council marks significant milestone in demonstrating the City’s continued support for Israel and the fight against terrorism. It not only affirms Israel’s sovereign right to defend its citizens but also sets a precedent for other municipalities and governments to take a stand,” stated Vered Elkouby Nisim, ICAN California Chair Emeritus.

The resolution serves as a poignant reminder of the existential threats that Israel faces, particularly at a time when the nation is grappling with a death toll exceeding 1,300 and the kidnapping of more than 200 individuals. The Council’s action is a clarion call for the international community to recognize the severity of the situation and to give Israel the freedom to conduct military operations against Hamas.

ICAN stands in solidarity with the Beverly Hills City Council, lauding its unequivocal condemnation of Hamas and its appeal for comprehensive U.S. support for Israel.
